We promise the IE will be a natural and enjoyable part of the process of becoming an instructor with us in Malaysia.

Ideally you should start your IDC Preparation now.
The program begins with the optional but highly desirable IDC Pre-Study and Preparation Workshop. Preparation is the key to success at the IDC and IE. The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is split into two parts:
Assistant Instructor (AI)
Open water scuba instructor (OWSI)

These can be done separately or together as one unit. You must successfully complete the AI before going on to the OWSI program.

Emergency first response instructor course:
CD Chong runs the Emergency First Responder Instructor course before or after IE. This is an optional program but is basically essential for any Professional Scuba Instructor.

PADI Instructor Examination (IE)
The PADI Asia Pacific office in Australia runs the PADI Instructor Examination IE 7 times here in West and East Malaysia a year. After successful completion of the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), you will be awarded the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification. We are proud of the fact that we still hold 100% first IE passing rate through our IDC Course. The experience we gained while preparing them, allowed us to understand all their needs in terms of proper information and guidance before, during and after their IDC course. You will also make at least twelve teaching presentations, four in classroom, four in confined water and four in open water.

Can I fail my IDC?
NO. This is a development course, sure we evaluate you, but we also coach and teach you until you reach the level sufficient to pass the IE. Just like any other PADI dive courses that are performance based, and the IDC is no different. Make as many mistakes as possible, Its development! enjoy it!

Yes-Chong provides a FREE IDC prep Course 2 days prior to the start of each IDC, as well as allowing extra time during the IDC for study workshops and we are also available 24 hours during IDC should you need to polish in any areas you are weak.
